What our body longed for was
Love within a touch
An open gaze from peaceful countenance
That sent the light we needed
Deep inside the pupils of our eyes
We were not born to have our heart
Cauterised
By the knives of reason they sent
Into our tender flesh
So is it any wonder
Now
That our bodies ache
With soreness, pain and dread
For so often it seem to me
Our deeper needs and longings
Were never fed
It’s no wonder at all. I’m surprised it doesn’t ache more

I so agree, we need to feed our longings and meet our deep needs!

We really do. I hate stoicism and denial.
