Indestructible

Here within the desolation that I feel

As hopes of our connection are stolen

I must reach as deeply as I can

For the part of me that is

Indestructible

And while I shed all of these tears

That speak to me of fears

And the sense that any lasting connection

Is impossible

I must reach for the part of me

That can bear to stand alone

That can take upon herself

This,

The full burden of her personal and collective

Aloneness and emptiness

Knowing that at the exact moment

My deeper being responds

Emptiness will transform itself

As I find myelf

Held firmly within the loving arms

Of presence
