Floating here
You will find me without a care
Heart as light as a feather
Blown about by the breath of God
And yet as I sense the heavy weight
Of thousand human fears
For now
I just allow them
To fall so far away from me
In my heart
Which embraces the silence
I feel my spirit join with the birds
Gathering feathers for their nest
Seeking my soul’s true kin
Feeling my apartness no longer as a sin
Rather such a profound blessing
Carry me homeward
I say to the wind
Allow me just for now to be a soul
Tasting the sweet relief
Of peace
Freely floating
I understand this poem a little too truly. Sometimes everything feels enough, and you float like a feather in a calm serenity. Beautiful.

Lovely prose and I too understand your meaning. As a young girl I often wrote poetry about floating and I think it might have been a feeling I associated with being underwater. That sense of quiet, peace and disassociating from the hard taste of reality. Beautifully expressed. Thank you for sharing. Love Joni

Yes, I used to write from a very young age too and yes some dissociation actually saves our soul. We need a relationship with the imaginal realm to help us make sense of suffering too and to provide a place of love and peace outside the trauma.
