Sometimes I wonder if it is the most sensitive and highly attuned of souls who suffer most or if they are indeed just more connected to the darkness on the planet at certain times. It is a thought that occurred to me after re reading several times a post I reblogged today from someone who found themselves in darkness and then witnessed rain and a storm breaking. There was a deep cry of soul loneliness in the post and this is something I feel sure so many readers and fellow bloggers will resonate with. This age was called the Kali Yuga by ancient Hindu Mystics in that it was thought that following the Middle Ages we would find ourselves in a time when head cut us off from heart and soul to a degree and it was thought that those who were more attuned to the mystical or deeply interconnected ways (for example ancient and indigenous races) would struggle more and that their crys of pain would contain a spiritual message for all of us.
Its something I am also considering after writing about the Adam Goodes film that aired here in Australia last week where the cry of the indigenous people for recognition was heard but was also met with denigration from certain patriarchal sectors, who tried to shame him for being ‘too sensitive’. I have noticed on radio a lot more about aboriginal languages and ways of life entering the mainstream and I do believe that there is a binding back that needs to happen to the older ways that these indigenous nations and races have to teach us. The magical and mystical kind of consciousness such people inhabited was not as firmly split off from the power of nature and the healing forces in nature which no form of man made synthetic substances or chemicals can truly mimic.
By a case of inner calling and happenstance I came across a book today that talks of this called Portal. Ostensibly it is about the power of the meditative state of being which connects us to natural inner and spiritual guidance but it also deals with a host of other issues and collective crises that we are facing as a global community right now which are challenges for us to recognise our inherent need not to split off from the natural world or living energies which have the power to sustain life but will be affected badly if continually subjected to artificial processes or affects of man made toxic substances. In essence the deeper message is that if we fall out of balance with the natural order we will end up cutting off from the healing force of life and this is a state that no level of human technology can save us from
I wonder at times if those of us who suffer find it harder to be divorced from an inner connected state. We also recognise deep down inside that the most powerful need of the human heart is to love and be loved and to be connected to something or someone as well in a mutually interdependent way. The literalism and rampant materialism of our age can lead to a kind of collective hubris within which we fail to honour the more natural organic rhythms and flows of life, love, human persons and nature. Suffering, illness or distress may be the soul’s cry for attention to this degree of disconnection that can no longer be born for healthy wellness and sanity. Anyway that is my thought for this afternoon after reblogging that post about someone who found themselves in darkness today while recognising their power to also rise above it and recognise its spiritual message. I hope I have succeeded in this post to articulate some kind of perspective on what so many of us seem to be facing and going through presently. I often think those of us who suffer are feeling at times the collective darkness that at the moment surrounds so many of us on this planet.
You so have. Really nailed this.
