Light returns
When you reach out a hand to me
In friendship
When we both make the effort to understand
The tangled by ways of each other’s hearts
I do believe one of the most painful sufferings
Of this modern life
Is the sense that we are separate
Or set so far apart
From each others hearts
At times feeling ourselves to be
Alien strangers
In an even more alien land
Wandering in search of lost light
At times many of us have had to travel
The darker pathways of the emotional wilderness alone
Longing ever so deeply for that peaceful place
We could call home
Sometimes
In the best of times
We find that home
Within the heart of another
Be it friend, mentor or lover
The one willing to embrace
The whole of us
No matter what the cost
And sometimes after a long time of struggle
Many of us
Find this place called home
Deep down inside the marrow of our bones
As we surrender fully to our truth
And melt away
All the barricades
Our soul’s erected
Against loving self and other
And it is then
We experience our own
Unique brand
Of homecoming
A sense of life and faith
And joy and hope returning
As we reach out a hand
To befriend the whole of us
Witnessing and surrendering
All within us
That blocks us from
The revelation of the light
Beautiful.
“The one willing to embrace
The whole of us
No matter what the cost
And sometimes after a long time of struggle
Many of us
Find this place called home”
This. ❤️
