Tell me again how I failed you

By not living up to expectations

You foisted upon me

That had nothing to do with me

But were only ever all about

Your own wants and responsbilities

Leave me aching

After breaking promises again

While you go off and fight whatever Goddam war

Your ego convinced you you had to win

To set the world to rights

Quiet frankly ‘my friend’

I am well an truly over it

I never chose to sign up

Or pull someone in

And then ask them to save me

From my own mistakes

So forgive me please

If I decide to sit this one out
