The stealing of the light

Somehow we survive

Even as we journey through the harshest terrain

Somehow some of us manage to awaken

And achieve liberation

Even admist great forces of repression

That wish to see truth

Strangled

And in this world

So often

Little is given for free

It takes courage for us to live

The truth of who we are

When we were not

The person that others wanted us to be

And so it is with liars

Or those who wish to cover over

Their darkest acts

Those who will do anything

To ensure the truth does not come out

They will like the barricaded

Try to block the solar light

From ever reaching the face of the moon

Casting the human world

Into the darkness of ignorance

And it will be the lone wolves who bear testament

As they emit their plaintive cries

Mourning forever
