Keep this in mind

Many people suffer

And you do not really know

The depth of wounds that bleed

Under the surface of a person’s life

And there are those out there

Who will give you the shirt off their backs

While others are just happy to laugh

As you fall through the cracks

Into that abyss of emptiness

They could never know

Because their souls

Never found them homeless

So please remember to be kind

Please bear in mind

What we see on the surface is not always

The whole truth of things

And sometimes

Even in our wildest imaginings

We do not really have a clue

Of what others have actually

Been going through
