A way back to love

Thank you for extending a hand

And offering me a way back to love

Life can often hurt so much

And often it is only the love of others

That brings us comfort

When the deep soul is aching

But then again

We always do have

Deep within us

A source of love to find

When we turn inside to our inner child

And hold her hand

I was reading that

When abandonment depression strikes

As it does so many of us emotionally

Left unseen and unheld

When young

With feelings too large to manage alone

That we should imagine ourselves

As a loving parent who embraces

That hurting child

Or imagine a loving power doing so

And I remember on my darkest days all alone

At the coast

How I visualised the Goddess surrounding me

Bathing me in an ocean of love

And I remember clearly

The healing she offered me

A way to be free

I recall she often said

Deborah in time you will

Emerge

From this dark night victorious

So now when I watch the sun so glorious

Streaming in and casting shadows

I remember this

And as I burst with joy

At you opening your heart to me again

I breathe such a huge sigh of relief

That we have found

You and me

A way back to love
