I can let you go

As I watch the grass dying

From lack of rain

Nothing now seems the same

As it was all of those years ago

When I was longing for you

To be close

To come once again

And fill my emptiness

Now I know

It was the path

I had to travel

A lonely one

Always searching for what was lost

But never knowing

Why

With my mind

Only feeling deep inside

The sorrowful aching

Of that empty space
