To escape

To escape does not mean

That I have run away from me

Just that I am seeking

A place of peace and solace

Within my sanctuary

A disconnected society will ask

What I am doing

Why I chose to shed my mask

But they don’t see

The deeper truths that live inside of me

They only judge from a lofty place

That has no awareness of the deep fissures

And traces

Trauma makes

So I will just find my way

Back to that place of silence

Where I can watch the wind play

With the leaves

As I hold myself within

The kingdom that is divine

Found deep within the ocean

Of my awakening heart and soul and mind
