Eclipsing dreams

In my dreams

You take me by the hand

As we traverse rainbows

Bodies of light

Becoming reflectors

Of the prism of coloured life

Melting into each other

We my friend

Have both known death

It was with us every day

It became my silent companion

From the tender age of 17

Hades took my hand

And led me to that underground place

Where darkness fell over everything

And all that remained

Was the painful reminder of spring

Lingering

Eclipsing light

Eclipsing the rainbow

Shrouding me in shadows of night

But now I know

That ours

Was no meeting by chance

And I sense how the dawning of rebirth

Calls our souls to dance

Within the new world

Slowly emerging

Sending up shoots

Above ground

Struggling to be free of

Those forces of darkness

But my love

This new world has not anchored yet

This one our intuitive senses and know

And we have become the ones

Crying in the night

Against the forces that block the light

Yet still we must trust in love

And in the power of our dreams

For here it is we are free

To fly

And hold each other’s hand

While we find a way to withstand

The supercharged tension

Of this time

That eclipses dreams

Trapping us for now

In a harder more limited

Reality
