Overwhelmed

On those days we feel so overwhelmed

It seems as though the light will never come again

As we collapse under the burden of so much sorrow

We lose all our faith in a brighter tomorrow

When all those we place our faith into

Prove just to abandon us

Then we must turn within

To find the strength from the one who

Waits and watches over all our trials

And gives helps us find our way

To inner power

Even in the weakest of moments

There is healing from facing reality

During the most vulnerable of times

For strength is not always found

From staying strong

When we feel overswhelmed or defeated

But in allowing our strength to break

So that in time we can find a new life within

Emergent within the endurance over time

Of all the harsh experiences we suffer

Giving birth to the purifying fire

That washes our soul clean

Of illusions

And inner confusion
