Anxiety

Within my chest

Is the buzzing of anxiety

Like a hornet’s nest

Disturbed by the movement

Of a passer by

This is the repressed life

That lives deep inside

Mixed up feelings

That I no longer recognise

As separate any more

Longing mixed with loathing

Excitement confused with fear

Hope disturbed by lack of trust

Destroying a peaceful atmosphere

Bringing fears of endings

Or dread

Of a disaster that could appear

To loom around

Every second corner

Calm the tempest

With thoughts of self care

Trust in this day

You are safe

You are guided

You are protected

And you are loved
