Two powerful quotes on the power of thought
The first is taken from Tian Dayton’s book on Forgiving and Moving On.
Today I fully recognise the immense power of thought. That which I dwell upon I become. My thoughts have more power to impact and create my reality than I realise. Doing is just the extension of thinking. I will first create in my mind what I would like to see in my life for both myself and those I love. My thoughts are creative energy, and when I take responsibility for them, I take responsibility for my life. The inner beliefs about myself and others that I hold in my mind will eventually find their way into my day to day reality. I will have the courage today to be aware of and take responsibility for the contents of my mind. I will take ownership of who I am.
I believe in the creative power of thought
This second quote is taken from the book Heart Talk by Cleo Wade
Healthy thinking is when we choose to guide our thoughts in a way that benefits our best self. Every thought, especially our repetitive thoughts, manifests itself in our lives. For example if we are caught in a thought cycle of “I am not good enough,” we will start to see the outside world affirm that thought. We may also find our behaviour beginning to affirm that thought when we isolate ourselves from the people in our lives who love us and know we are good enough. Since our thought are what frame our lives, the first step in constructing a healthy life is to construct healthy thoughts. Healthy thinking does not mean you never have dark thoughts; it just means that you don’t stay in unhelpful thoughts long enough for them to influence your reality. We become the stories we tell ourselves, so it is crucial that we, as narrators, frame our experience with thoughts that heal, nurture and motivate us. We are more in charge of our thoughts than we think. Keep your inner world loving and hopeful, and your outside world will begin to reflect that reality.
