If love is all around us
And I see evidence of it every day
In the sunshine and the moonbeam and the forest flower
Then why is we so often do not see
What is right in front our eyes?
When was it that we were taught to become
Deaf dumb and blind to
Love’s silent majestic presence
Drawing so far away
From the sound of our own heart beat
Cutting off from the living vibrant pulse of life?
When did we stop breathing as deeply
And stop reaching
And opening up our hearts
And get so anxious about embracing a fresh start
Forgetting to see the blessings in every day
And states of grace along the way?
And even when our doubting side fears
That love has been stolen away
And will never again come near
Could it be that it is all just a matter of projection
And of what we connect with deep inside
The love we hide from
Fear or forget to appreciate
Is what we most need to open to embrace
And channel to the world outside
Where ever it too has forgotten
And become blind to love
