When the past is present
Seeping up through the cracks or fissures
Within our body mind
Can we at least bless it
Rather than curse
The reminder that at one time
Certain things were so far beyond our power
To design chose or control
To those who say
We chose our past
I am not sure that I agree
But still we can
Choose to accept
That a certain past
Gave rise to things
We struggle with
For we are human and vulnerable
Far from bullet proof
Clutching to our breast
Shields of steel to deflect those arrows
That may actually pierce an artery
That needs to bleed
Or be lanced
Just as Jesus heart was pierced
In time the blood it turned to phlegm
And taken down from the cross
He rose again
He blessed the wounder and the wound
And saw it as the place of unconsciousness
And awakening
A portal into change
And so it is for us
If we can be humble and human to accept
That sometimes the past IS present
Has lessons for our evolving souls
You say some times the past IS present. IS does this stand for ISIS ? Just asking for much needed clarity here on this post.

I am just trying to articulate that the past affects us and we can learn from it. We don’t necessarily have to leave it all behind. Does that make sense?

Yes as historians always dreg it when doing research in the future looking back wards right ? Nothing is ever left behind where maybe it should be stored underground safely
