Sometimes
The cacophony of a hundred voices
Drowns out the beating of our heart
That in its silent knowing
Just has the wisdom to draw close
To the stillness
To mine its secrets
And hidden truths
Only found in quietness
And then there are the thousand opinions
That others feel they are qualified to give
Just in case you get hurt or make a mistake
But then I ask
Why not just trust in the soul’s innate guidance
And ability to learn and grow?
Are we really all that fragile and breakable
Or this there not a place inside of us that we trust
Can be strong enough
To contain us
And restore our faith in the silent knowing
And just maybe
If things break us
Maybe their purpose
Is to break us open
To new wisdom
To our own truth
Our own authenticity
Our own intuition
Precious gifts and soul resources
That a killing culture so often denies
Or teaches us to mistrust
Gifts that can only be realised through the process
Of learning to trust our inner guidance
And follow our unique path
