I believe the time has come

To make love not war

To work to expand

Deep inside our hearts and souls

That feeling of openness which comes

When we concentrate on

Connection

Reaching out

Caring for

And not adding to

All the suffering in this world

Can we take just a little step forward

To open the door to those

Who inhabit a world where they too struggle

Surely its harder to always be

Preoccupied with all of the hurt and pain

And things done or gone wrong

Yet without these

How would we ever know

The truest and deepest value of love

And so these later days

As dusk descends

Reminding me of dark nights descending

I listen to love songs

Centred here in the stillness

And in my heart

As shadows grow

I remember how tender it feels

When love is the only thing

On my mind

And as that loving energy fills my being

I just imagine

This river of love

Carrying me endlessly

Towards connection

Towards a place of soothing

A place so deep within me

That feels so much

The place of peace

That I call home
