Here in the dark I found you my beloved
Also my lost self
All dressed in rags
Left to tend the fires that burned
Never started by your own hand
It was with a deeper recognition
That I wept
When I realised finally you were not stranger
Only my rejected self
So in need of love and compassion
For you never seemed to find a home
In society
And if you were for so many years
The hermit
The dark weaver of torments and dreams
Then it was not an illness that overcame you
But an initiation that you sensed
Calling you to solitude
And then a man came from the ocean
Wanting to claim you
But the wounds were written on him
And how you struggled
Knowing you could never live in his world
And so you were forsaken again
But not by him
It was really you who abandoned yourself
As we all do before consciousness comes
But now things have changed
And lately you are finding your world rearranged
As you recognise
The Beloved
Must first of all be found from within
For without love for our real self
We are but an empty vessel
Sounding out pain
That like a magnetic force can only bring to us
More of the same
But when love instead fills our empty spaces
Then we are ready truly to embrace another
Ready to truly meet and manifest
The Beloved
