A glass half dark
Sits here before me
Shining opaque indigo
Shot through with stars
Is this all that remains
A vague and bittersweet metaphor
Of our night flight to Mars?
For so long
It was impossible to find the light in anything
Half light
You are now all that I know
But it is harder to reach for you
When the fear of falling is so strong
And would it be a disaster to make it this far
And not ever try to reach again
Or have the courage to embark on that journey to the stars?
And so when this half dark glass captures all of my attention
I must remember that there is a way
To add a little starlight
Even if only hopes of more dreams
Which prove to be unrequited
For there must surely be
Resting here
Though hidden under weariness and defeat
The will for yet another
Night flight to Mars
I really love this, thank you for sharing.

Wow thanks so much I wrote this months ago and didn’t think it was good enough to post so your comment means a lot to me.
