When she feels a need
There she is
With heart wide open
Thinking of things to do
While others just pass by
Or turn a blind eye
To the suffering
Is it only the things she has known
Darkest of times
When it seemed she could not find
Another soul who knew her own
That opened her sights to the inner loneliness
That so few can speak of
And made her always determined to help
But the hardest lesson is
That no one can totally fill another’s emptiness
God knows her own was hard enough to bear
And it was only when she turned towards it with love
That it became full
A powerful vortex calling her home
To herself
And how really can one really teach another that process
For it only seems to me
That healing comes
Through our own struggle and suffering
The securer self in us
Is so often birthed out of darkness
Existential aloneness and suffering
