Facing our darkness and fear. An excellent post.
The darkness that you fear is the fear itself.
Institutionalised religions are not that old, but they brought already enough damage to most cultures with their culture of “born sinner” and fear, guilt and evil… In fact, they promise the light only by making you fear the darkness. The Sun is then placed over the heads of the Gods and Prophets and the darkness is given to all others who follow in pursuit of the light.
But dark is the night, and you know it is often our best adviser… in fact, there would be no life on Earth without the existence of the night.
In ancient cultures, from deep Africa to Eastern Shamanism, Celtic paganism, Native American or Amazon shamans… things were seen in a different way: there is a real connection with nature and its wisdom, not a twisted profitable organised religion man made.
