Let there be silence

Not a whole lot of talking

In a world where

Things are so often not as they seem

Or as people say they are

I am growing tired of words

I would rather listen to the silence spaces in between

Or to the beating of your heart

I would rather feel your touch

And surrender myself to trust and love

Opening my soul to the cracks of soundlessness and emptiness that appear

When we have grown exhausted by speech

For it is then

In that silence that descends

That deeper truths are often glimpsed

By a mind delivered far beyond words

Peeling back layers

Of deeper reason

Forming feelings

Deep inside

Shedding seeds

From the husks of all that rose up in silence

Revealing truer longings

Or meanings

Come like a wave

Proving the stronger power

Of water over earth

And rocks and sand

"The religious naturalist is provisioned with tales of natural emergence that are, to my mind, far more magical than traditional miracles. Emergence is inherent in everything that is alive, allowing our yearning for supernatural miracles to be subsumed by our joy in the countless miracles that surround us." Ursula Goodenough How to describe oneself? People are a mystery and there is so much more to us than just our particular experiences or occupations. I could write down a list of attributes and they still might not paint a complete picture pf Deborah Louise and in any case it would not be the full truth of me. I would say that my purpose here on Wordpress is to express some of my random experiences, thoughts and feelings, to share about my particular journey and explore some subjects dear to my heart, such as emotional recovery, healing and astrology while posting up some of the prose/poems which are an outgrowth of my labours with life, love and relationships. If anything I write touches you I would be so pleased to hear for the purpose of reaching out and expressung ourselves is hopefully to connect with each other and find where our souls meet.

  1. This resonates with me. I’ve traded the cacophony of the world for the quiet solitude of a tiny village. Silence is my new home.

      1. It’s amazing. I love parks, too, here we have the ocean, thick forests and every turn around the shoreline is an open green – the perfect place to picnic and be lazy on a warm day. 🙂 ❤

      2. It’s okay, it happens. I’ve had to dig through my spam to find comments from blog friends. It is, quite beautiful. Thanks, Deborah.
