To depend on you

Would be a dream come true

But one that is difficult to trust

For as humans we all falter and are weak sometimes

And everyone needs another’s shoulder to lean upon

Sometimes

And there are times we feel

So broken apart

That the only way we think

We can come back together

Is if someone helps us

Gather those torn apart pieces of us

And helps us ‘fix’ them back together

But maybe the process doesnt work like this

Maybe like Gilgamesh we have to

In our healing

Embark on a long journey of

Re – membering

Our selves our journey our narrative

Finding those parts of us

Split off

Lost Abandoned Betrayed

Thrown away

Or buried

Collecting them all back together

And assembling them in a unique way

And maybe the best another can do

Is just promise to stand firmly by our side

As we go on our journey

And who knows

They may walk away

It would be such a relief to trust we could depend

And of course we must depend on us

But to inter depend

Well wouldn’t that be

Just marvellous?
