My God
What have they done to you
Orchestrating the cut
To take out
What needed to be shrunk
Through tears
Dont they know
Our organs, tissues and vessels swell
When we don’t release the pressure
Of years and years
Of anger, grief and tears
Did you fall for the lie they told you
When your fury tried to bring attention to the truth
Did you let them stick needles in you
To calm you down
Or submit to the shock
To rewire your ‘addled’ brain?
Did they think it was so uncool
That you were reacting
From a place of authenticity
With genuine ferocity
With a lion’s roar
That wanted to tear down
A false prison
And even if now
This anger
Holds hidden deep within it
Grief
Over how powerless you were
And how unseen
Letting it out will take the lid off the sealed vessel
That holds those tears in suspension
So my darling rage and cry
You were never meant to be
A wild animal
Silenced
Domesticated
Lobotomised
With passion
Protest
Energy
Sacrificed
Stolen
This reminds me of dealing with trauma in “Waking The Tiger” by Peter A. Levine.
Very good contrast..

Yes, I love that book. I was not really thinking about it, this just flowed out in reaction to what nephew is going through at present. But I love it that you found that connection. ❤
