In sorrow deep
Your are a waif
Here echoing all around the room that surrounds you
The emptiness and pain in your heart
That has no container
Ghost like you are haunted
And sleep eludes
Your weary eyes
There are memories too of times I am sure
When life was full of such hope connection and promise
This road we walk is never certain
We meet others along the way
At times our hearts connect
At others they are torn apart by leaving and loss
Have we the capacity to bear it all
To dive deep into sorrow
Which is an ocean
Fathoms deep
Asking of us for a time extinction, dissolution?
Can we surrender to the task
And in so doing birth our new becoming
Letting what needs to seep forth from deep inside
Where cracks allow pain release
Leaving us no longer
As deeply haunted by sorrow
But filled with the bittersweek elixar
Of a heart broken eart
Opening to the reality of Love?
