Happiness
You stood on solid land
Finally no longer inundated by the tide
You dared to express
The discomfort you felt
In something new that you are not familiar with
Suddenly the torrent came in
And all known reference points faded
The one that watched from the side
Who knows your heart well
Said “Deb, you did nothing wrong!”
“She has brought out the big guns to obliterate you”
There is a scanning going on
For signs of threat
Which are really just phantoms of the mind
Now there is only an ocean again
An ocean of tears
In which I only seem to drown
But this deluge is really a baptism
A removal of the illusory and the unreal
And a reminder
That you should not look for support
Anywhere outside of yourself
And you will only truly know what supports you
When all outside supports are removed
